RE: Power Gear's leveling system

The only thing I really care to check is the refigerator. I use a post level which shows both directions instantly. I've never had the auto level leave me off level enough to care. Of course this only applies when you are in a reasonable situation to start with, it's usually pretty obvious if you need to add some blocking before leveling.

RE: WIND NOISE IN GRILL

Pearlie, I have a 2008 35E. Ours came with plastic end plugs on the grill tubes and yours should also have these. Fleetwood did this on the 2008's to fix the grill noise the Bounders have had. I had no noise for quite some time. After some time I started to get a noise and could not figure it out since the plugs were still all there. I did notice the "hood opening panel" seemed a bit loose on one side and adjusted it to be tight. (an easy adjustment) After that there again was no noise, so I'd advise just checking that. When the hood is closed and locked you should not be able to get any movement on either side. This isn't the only possibility but I've heard of a lot less complaints since Fleetwood put on those end caps.

RE: Steer Safe - Effect on alignment

The steer-safe should accomplish what your stated desires are. It is also the least cost solution. It will not fix or hurt your alignment.
If you have not had an alignment then you should get one in the same condition you operate under (the same loads, weights) and it would be better before adding the steer-safe to have the alignment because the alignment would require some dis-assemble and re-assemble of the steer-safe. You really should give the folks in Deming a call as they are straight talking and can really explain the answer you are looking for.

RE: Taking the Class A North on I95 - Yikes!!!

You really have two good options and they are well spelled out in the answers. I would say it depends on what you want most. The Chessy Bay Bridge Tunnel way is pretty neat and some folks just love it while others are very uncomfortable with it. Only you can judge that.
The I95- 17- I66 - I81 - I84 way is a pretty safe bet if you think the Bay/Bridge is not your cup of tea. A good bet might be go one way on each route. That would be a real nice trip.

RE: 06-bounder-- owners

Get a new mechanic and stay away from Camping World. Your '06 F53 chassis on a 35 ft Bounder is a capable platform. You said the alignment is okay which is good...now what about the weight ? The
front should be well loaded ( not overloaded ) in relation to the rear. The tires should be at good pressure (if anything, err on the high side) If you still think the front is feeling a wind push from
reasonable winds, or passing trucks, you could add a steer-safe. It is
a reasonable thing just from the aspect of blow-out handling help. If you are trying to feel comfortable in high crosswinds (40+mph) there is probably nothing you can do.

RE: Newbie: Is your new Ford TorqShift trans really noisey?

The brake boost is electric on the newer chassis. You can turn the
engine off and step on the brake and you should hear the boost run.
If your foot is not on the brake you should hear nothing. If you start the engine, and you keep your foot off the brake you should hear nothing. In any case the electric boost should never be all that
loud. (assuming you have brake fluid)

RE: Now that it costs $.50 per mile to RV...

I'm just glad I sold the boat several years ago. Now, that thing was expensive....probably about $3.00 a mile today.

RE: Unannounced Ford Recall

Look here for information .... http://www.newcarpark.com/auto-recalls/autorecall.php?recallid=48069 It seems this is a Fleetwood recall and not a Ford recall. Further it a few years old now.

RE: Cruise Control

On my 2007 Ford chassis the cruise control light does not come on when you turn on the cruise control, it comes on when you hit "set" and actually engage a specific speed, it goes out when you disengage by touching brake. It isn't real obvious when it's lit up and you could easily miss it if you aren't used to knowing where to look.

RE: Firewood..Split your own or buy??

I split my own with a special splitter I got from a sreet vendor that
came with a certification the resulting split wood will burn free of any carbon emissions. Since that means I don't need to buy any carbon offsets I can use the saved money to buy beer. The more wood I split the more beer I can buy !!

RE: Pink Stuff ??? hmmmm

I can see no reason to leaving the lines pressurized. I always open a valve to release the pressure just so I can let some antifreeze out of
the city water hookup as the last step. It seems a lot of folks overlook this step. You don't want pressure in the line when you push in the check valve as that can cause a problem with the valve (not to mention a lot of anti freeze squirting right at you).
